We conducted unique research into students and trees, woods and people

We conducted research for The Woodland Trust about students’ perceptions of, and relationships with, woodland and trees. We received around 4,500 responses, and the results were both fascinating and valuable.

For example, we found that, on the whole, respondents recognise the positive effect of trees on health and wellbeing (91%) and also believe they have intrinsic value (90%).  Respondents also recognise they can play a role in conservation, with only 12% saying they can do nothing to help protect the UK’s trees, woods and forests.

The Woodland Trust will use the full report to inform their vitally important work in preserving the nation’s woodlands.
