Sarah Dobson is the lead contact for Green Impact at the Natural History Museum, as part of her role as the Environmental and Sustainability Officer. Here’s what she has to say about her experience with the programme:
“My role in GI is as lead contact, therefore I manage the Green Impact programme and content at the organisation.
Green Impact has had a positive impact here as it has provided a structured programme, enabling staff to take ownership of greening their own work areas, without requiring excessive oversight from the programme manager. This is invaluable in an organisation with very limited staff resources. The programme is also hugely beneficial to staff who are able to feel like they are making a positive impact in an otherwise very large organisation, where it is sometimes difficult to feel engaged with initiatives outside of your direct focus of work.
The best thing about Green Impact is linking in to a wider network of sustainable behaviour change and developed resources than is available within the organisation; and the support, encouragement and skills in delivery and engagement of our NUS programme coordinator.”
